5 Apr 2022 by Sean Bland

Starting on Thursday April 7th, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated will turn Atlanta Purple and Gold as they convene for the 85th Seventh District Meeting. The Seventh District of Omega Psi Phi consists of the states of Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and of course Georgia. Members from all over the district as well as the international officers will be in attendance to collaborate in philanthropic endeavors uplifting the community as well as spending time in the city of Atlanta.
The brothers of the district will perform a volunteer playground makeover for the kids at KIPP Ways Academy on Thursday morning, April 7th and prepare and deliver hygiene kits to the Salvation Army in hopes of assisting those less fortunate. These are both in the Atlanta Metropolitan area.
The District Representative, Brother Reginald Harris, said in a statement, “Atlanta is a great host for this meeting as it is the melting pot of the South. The members of the host chapters Tau, Mu Mu Mu, Beta Psi and Kappa Kappa have done an outstanding job preparing for the brotherhood, while also ensuring safety. The city and our host hotel (Sheraton Atlanta) have been great to work with and we can’t wait to get started. Our goal is to leave Atlanta a little better than we found it on Thursday by participating in a community service project/s and then conduct the business of Omega the rest of the week.”
